Man in Disabled Vehicle Dies on 405

Comments Off

A disabled vehicle must display warning lights or other devices. This is required by RCW 46.37.450

A 47-year-old Kenmore man was killed Tuesday morning when his car was disabled because of a flat tire and then rear-ended by another car. Chonghua Gu had stopped his car at about 5 a.m. in the car-pool lane of southbound Interstate 405 in Bellevue. Shep Griswold, 50, of Kirkland, was driving an Infiniti G35X and hit Gu’s disabled Toyota Camry. Gu was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died about seven hours later. A passenger in his car suffered internal bleeding and was taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center.

In accidents like this–where one or both drivers may have contributed to the accident–it’s important to contact a personal injury attorney right away.
