A teenager was run over by a boat driven by his sister during an outing on Lake Sammamish. The 16-year-old boy was swimming with his father near a buoy offshore Thursday evening around 9:30. The boy was in critical condition in Harborview Medical Center Friday in the intensive care unit.
His 18-year-old sister was in the family’s 19-foot ski boat returning from visiting friends on another part of the lake, and didn’t see them in the water. She ran over her brother. The boat’s propeller struck his leg, nearly severing it.
Reports indicate the boy will be a junior at Issaquah High School this fall and his sister is a recent graduate.
