According to the Tacoma News Tribune a car-hauler that jackknifed on Interstate 5 near Gravelly Lake Drive during the lunch hour Friday caused at least five accidents involving seven semitrucks and 11 other vehicles. Several people were hurt.
The Tacoma News Tribune also reported that a 66-year-old Tacoma man was injured when his Ford F-150 truck was struck from behind and pushed under a semitrailer, the agency said in a press release Friday. The man was transported to Madigan Army Hospital and was in serious but stable condition Friday evening.
In accidents like this one it’s important to have the assistance of a personal injury attorney for a couple of reasons. First, allocating responsibility between the various drivers is complicated. Second, it is possible to recover money for your injuries even if you rear-ended the car in front of you–despite the common impression that the following driver is always at fault, it just isn’t so in multi-car accidents like this particularly where the lead vehicle looses control.
