Two men were hospitalized Monday following a collision between a 1994 Ford Pickup and a 2004 Nissan Xterra on Highway 3 near Bremerton National Airport.
The accident occurred when the driver of the Ford, an 83-year old man whose name was not disclosed, attempted to make a left turn across two lanes of southbound traffic. The Xterra driver, a 24 year old man, hit the brakes but was unable to avoid colliding with the right side of the Ford. The Washington State Patrol investigated the accident and indicated that no felony citations were issued and no drug or alcohol was involved.
The driver of the Ford was taken to Harborview Medical Center and was in serious condition Monday evening. His passenger, a 74-year old man, was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma. The Xterra driver did not require hospitalization. A 27-year old woman and an 8-year old boy were passengers in the Xterra. They also did not require hospitalization.
