On March 14, a woman dropped off her 1-year-old son at his grandmother’s house in Renton. The toddler wandered outside unnoticed while his mother and grandmother were talking. As the mother backed her pickup truck from the home, she backed over her son. The 1-year-old died at the hospital.
Despite a popular misconception, children can sue their parents – particularly when they are hurt by a motor vehicle driven by the parents. Although this is a difficult time, the victim’s mother should contact a personal injury attorney to assist her with the steps necessary to ensure the family is compensated for their loss.
