Authorities confirmed that a 21-year-old Navy sailor has died from injuries received in a one-car crash near Lake Tahuyeh that also killed his girlfriend. The sailor was identified as Anthony Garecht, 21, formerly of Lodi, Calif. He was a seaman apprentice aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis, based in Bremerton. His girlfriend was identified as Hope Christina Graham, 21. She is from Huson, Montana.

The estate of the woman killed has a wrongful death claim. If the woman killed had children, they would have their own claims under Washington’s wrongful death statute.
