Just after midnight on March 3, a police officer stopped to talk with a man walking on NP Road S.E. in Yelm, when a driver lost control of his car, nearly hit the police officer, and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and is in critical condition. The police officer was not injured. Authorities arrested the driver for investigation of drunk driving.

The victim or his family should contact a personal injury attorney immediately to discuss their options and preserve any rights they may have with their own insurance company and against the driver of the car.
