On February 14 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a Kent woman was killed when she crossed the centerline on Highway 18 and collided head-on with an unmarked State Patrol car. The state trooper suffered a broken ankle and other non-life-threatening injuries.
In addition to workers’ compensation benefits, persons injured on the job by someone other than a fellow employee can file what is called a third-party claim. However, they need to contact a personal injury attorney so this right is not taken away by the Department of Labor and Industries.
