A 49-year-old Lynnwood man was seriously injured in a collision between his motorcycle and an SUV last weekend. The accident occurred in the 3100 block of Alderwood Mall Boulevard in Lynnwood at approximately 10:30 a.m. The motorcyclist was driving westbound when the SUV driver suddenly pulled out in front of him. The motorcyclist had no time to stop and was barely able to avoid hitting the SUV head-on. Police investigated the incident and determined that the SUV driver did not see the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with two broken legs and a broken hip.

Traffic accidents involving motorcycles generally result in severe injuries for the motorcycle rider. These riders are essentially unprotected and drivers frequently do not see them. Motorcyclists should always wear helmets and protective clothing when riding. Riders who are involved in an accident should contact a personal injury to discuss their legal rights. This is particularly true where liability is clear, as in the Lynnwood accident discussed above.
