A 44-year old Renton man was killed when the car he was riding in struck a parked Metro bus Wednesday morning. The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year old Seattle woman, drove into a Burien park and ride lot and hit the bus shortly after 2:00 a.m. The force of the impact threw the driver and passenger into the windshield. Neither was wearing a seat belt. Police are investigating whether alcohol was involved in the accident.

The family of the deceased man has a cause of action against the driver of the vehicle and should contact an attorney. It is no defense that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. In Washington, evidence that a person was not wearing a seat belt at the time of an accident is inadmissible.
