An accident between a tanker truck, motorcycle and a pickup truck on Highway 101 north of Shelton recently left one dead and others injured. Apparently, the pickup truck ventured into on-coming traffic and struck the tanker. The tanker exploded after the collision. The driver of the tanker, Phillip Simpson, and the driver of the motorcycle, George Strock, both suffered serious injuries.

Workers injured on the job, like the driver of the tanker in this case, are entitled to “worker’s compensation” benefits to cover medical bills and lost earnings. Also, if the accident was caused by someone other than the worker’s employer, then the worker has a “third-party” cause of action against the guilty party as well.
