In March, a drunk driver in a Jeep ran a red light in Bellevue and collided with a BMW carrying several young adults. A backseat passenger in the BMW was killed, and several others were injured. On May 26, the driver was sentenced to 68 months in prison, a $10,000 fine and monthly donations to the Children’s Hospital Foundation memorial fund for the victim of the accident.
The victim’s family, as well as those injured, should contact a personal injury attorney to discuss their options. Although the at-fault driver is in prison, a personal injury attorney can help families receive compensation from the driver’s insurance company.
