The fatal crash in Skagit County on February 16 killed two drivers, one passenger and severely injured another passenger. The driver of the car who caused the crash crossed the center median and collided with an oncoming car. As there are currently no barriers in the center median to prevent these types of accidents, the state has plans to install a cable barrier in April.
The state may also be liable for failing to provide a safe roadway. Had there been a cable barrier installed prior to the accident, this type of fatal accident may not have occurred.
